TRAINING FOR MEDIATOR CERTIFICATION

 

Virginia Judicial Systems

Thursday    August 26, 2010    4 PM – 8 PM

Family Mediation Training

This 20-hour course continues the training achieved in Basic Mediation Skills.  Presented over two-and-a-half days, this course gives participants the skills necessary to do Juvenile & Domestic Relations court-referred mediations in issues of custody, visitation, and child support.

Dates:   October 27, 28, 29 (W, Th, F)

Trainers:  Cyndy Martin and Bonnie Brewer

Cost:  $450 if postmarked by October 9; thereafter, $495

Domestic Violence Assessment

This 8-hour course is required for mediating family cases in the Commonwealth.  Participants learn the “hot buttons and red flags” seen in family mediations, and how to evaluate and screen for intimate partner violence.  Role-play is a major part of this course.
