Mediations and Co-Parenting Classes Are Available Online

MCC has transitioned to online for many of the services we offer. Our certified mediators and teachers are ready to provide you with the same quality guidance and information you can expect in person. For Co-Parenting class information, please visit the Co-Parenting Class page. To schedule a mediation session using videoconferencing, contact our office at mcc@mediationcville.org. We are here to help!

Through a partnership between the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation and Bama Works, Dorothy Batten, UVA Community Health, and Twice is Nice, the Mediation Center of Charlottesville was awarded a $10,000 Community Recovery & Catalyst Grant to help support MCC’s general operations through the uncertain times of COVID-19. We are most grateful!

We are pleased to announce the Mediation Center has received a $5,000 grant in support of our programs. This is the fourth grant we have received from the Bama Works Fund since late 2015, and we are grateful for the continued support!

Applications accepted now for the Judy Morton Scholarship

Named in honor of longtime MCC mediator, volunteer, and supporter Judy Morton, this scholarship will cover 100% of the recipient’s fee for the Basic Mediation Skills course. The award will be bestowed annually to the student whose application best articulates an interest in mediation vis-a-vis his/her career or future pursuits. If you are interested in taking Basic Mediation Skills and would like to apply for the scholarship, please see the application guidelines below. Completed scholarship applications must be submitted at least 6 weeks before the start of the course, and the award recipient is notified 4 weeks before the start date.

At this time, 2020 training in Basic Mediation Skills has not been scheduled due to COVID-19. Please check back at this page for updates. When the course is scheduled, to apply for the Judy Morton Scholarship, you will need to submit your name and contact info (address, phone, & email) and a narrative of up to 500 words with the subject line “Judy Morton Scholarship” to mcc@mediationcville.org and include the following information:

  • Why you want to be a mediator,
  • What you see as the value of mediation today,
  • How training in mediation skills fits into your future plans or career.

COVID-19 Update: Spring Training Courses Cancelled
